AMPM winter 2009 Newsletter

We’ve all heard so much about the economic downturn and there is absolutely no doubt that for many in business, it is becoming a harsh reality.
Cost structures which have grown disproportionately during the good times of recent years are coming under review and often one of the first thoughts is to slash costs across the board with the marketing budget being one of the first in the firing line
.
Now is not the time to just simply cut the budget. It’s time to review and demand marketing value. Every marketing dollar spent should produce a good return in sales.
For more than 20 years, our clients have trusted us to deliver value and now more than ever it’s our time to step up to the plate and deliver.
While many brands and services will reduce in size during a downturn, the ones who can communicate more efficiently through an increased spend or more relevantly, through an innovative and effective marketing strategy will not only grow their market share during this period, but will recover much more rapidly and achieve significantly higher sales after the economy recovers.

AMPM was originally established within the months just prior to the 1987 share market crash and through those tough economic times proved itself as a valued and trusted partner. Now in 2009, we are again providing value to a very much larger client base.

More Value - Less MOOlah

This economic climate has provided AMPM the opportunity to ‘walk the talk’ and currently our own marketing efforts, through effective database marketing are paying dividends. Our recent MOOlah promotion has allowed us to stretch our legs and utilise a combination of our own marketing channels and services which is resulting in a continuity of new business opportunities. All of the following elements came into play… strategic analysis, database and direct mail marketing with effective follow up, bright and creative graphic design, attention-grabbing and imaginative promotional items, specialist print production, website integration - allaccompanied with a taste of outdoor and radio advertising. Now is the time to effectively communicate your business offering – and the time to demand marketing value.

Database Marketing– Direct Marketing

Database marketing is a form of direct marketing using databases of customers or potential customers to generate personalised communications in order to promote a product or service for marketing purposes. The method of communication can be any addressable medium as in direct marketing. – source, Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

By establishing a database using a source such as APN Data, we use telemarketing to establish your correct contact point and send them the unique product (the hook), which we’ve designed just for you. This is followed-up using either a telemarketer or your/our staff and the appointments are set for your sales team.
Our own experiences speak volumes for the quality of the direct marketing product (the hook), the quality of the database and the absolute need to be totally committed to the follow-up.

The “R” word

We’ve all seen Gordon Ramsay ranting and raving on the “F” word – memorable but essentially not pretty.

Well the dreaded “R” word that we’ve all been hearing so much about has the ability to bring about language and behaviour in many that would make Gordo look like an angel.

The “R” word has also brought about necessary action for many in business that perhaps should have been attended to more closely over recent years. Positive “R” words that if followed will see you well Rewarded:

Print Management Offshore Printing

Talk to AMPM about offshore print options, it may be an opportunity to increase value on your marketing collateral using extra finishing and print processes. The timing of offshore production may not be a problem if we plan ahead.

Digital and Personalisation Printing

As part of your integrated marketing strategy you may need a direct mail piece that needs the “personalised” touch. Talk with us to find the best solution based on your budget and data limitations.

Online Inventory and Storage

One of our clients said: “If I didn’t have this system, my business may not still be here...”
We store and despatch all the marketing collateral and promotional items for this client. With our system they know who has ordered what, how much is left in store, and when they are due for reordering. The system gives transparency to all the stakeholders for maximum ROI.

Digital Asset Management

Digital Asset Management is the same as online inventory and storage except when you “order” an asset it is available for download
instead of being couriered. Examples of digital assets are logos, images and any electronic files you may want to share... securely.
No more time spent trying to find an image, making sure it is in the right format, and burning it to disk. Your marketing team is free to work on revenue generating projects instead. There is an easier way.

Call Vern on 09 300 5132, vern@ampm.co.nz

to discuss how this could work for you.
